Zakiya Mackey

WPSC2013 speaker Mackey ZakiyaKeynote  Speaker Zakiya Mackey is a writer and director from the urban streets of Oakland, California and a recent graduate of Loyola Marymount with a degree in film production. While at Loyola, Zakiya wrote and directed many short films, including “No More” a film about domestic violence within the African-American family, which won the Golden Lion award at the Film Outside the Frame Film Festival in Los Angeles. “No More” is now being used by the Alameda County District Attorney’s office for domestic violence training for the Oakland Police Department. After her junior year at LMU, Zakiya took a position at Green Hat Films, a subsidiary of Warner Bros., in post production sound, alongside comedy director Todd Philips and she now works for KGO/KSFO radio. Zakiya eagerly brings her talent, skill and passion for others to the Eureka! Team and the Girls Inc. mission.
